Description
A beautiful two-strand necklace of ebony beads, all faceted. It is shown here with the original rhinestone clasp which can be worn on the side as an additional ornament or in the back. Beads are all the same size except for the tiny black beads between the prominent larger beads. Jet beads came into fashion during Queen Victoria’s time when it was unacceptable to wear jewelry while mourning. When her husband died, she made it the fashion to wear jet black beads while grieving. Strands are 14” Long.
