Black Bakelite with Rhinestones

Bakelite from the 1920's was considered high-style and is the first durable plastic, after celluloid which was fragile. It is a clever design, made almost like a chain with faceted stones interspersed. The idea was that at one of the beautiful old dimly lit nightclubs, only the rhinestones would prevail and seem to be floating around the neck. Since the stones are at different angles, the sparkle is dramatic. The size is 14” but if you love it, I can extend it for you. A very collectible piece.
